This is a wonderful recognition for Taïga and his owner José-Carlos! After winning the hearts of his colleagues at Piguet Galland, this young black Labrador recently made the front page of the newspaper 20 Minutes, with an article and even a cover page in the print version.
A Medical Alert Dog in the Spotlight
Taïga is not like other dogs. In training to become a medical alert dog, he accompanies José-Carlos, who has type 1 diabetes. Thanks to his exceptional sense of smell, he can detect a drop in blood sugar levels before his owner even feels it. This essential role has caught the attention of the media, and thus 20 Minutes decided to dedicate a feature article to him.
Taïga's story highlights the importance of medical assistance dogs and the key role they play in their owners' lives. In the interview with the newspaper, José-Carlos shares his daily life with his faithful companion and the positive impact this canine presence has on his life.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
This feature in 20 Minutes is a fantastic opportunity to raise public awareness about medical alert dogs and the benefits they bring to people with chronic illnesses or specific disorders. "Seeing Taïga on the cover is a great pride, not only for me but also for all the people who work in training these extraordinary dogs," says José-Carlos.
The association Medical Flair, which trains these dogs in French-speaking Switzerland, hopes that this media exposure will help raise funds to continue their mission and meet the growing demand for alert dogs for diabetes, epilepsy, and autism.
An Ongoing Adventure
Now, Taïga is more than just a companion or a work colleague: he is a true star! Despite this sudden fame, he continues his training with seriousness and dedication. His training, which lasts an average of 18 months, will soon allow him to fully perform his role with José-Carlos.
At Piguet Galland, we are proud to see Taïga and José-Carlos in the spotlight and to support this wonderful adventure. This media coverage is proof that the work of assistance dogs deserves all our admiration and support.
Well done, Taïga, you are a well-deserved star! We look forward to following the rest of your exceptional journey.
